All About Hull
Hull (full name: Kingston upon Hull) was England's second-largest port between the 13th and 16th Centuries. The Anglo-Icelandic Cod War (1975-1976) led to a major decline in Hull's fortunes as a major port.
Today, it still remains a major port, however, handling 18.5% of UK imports.
The Princes Quay Shopping Centre and the Prospect Centre are the two big shopping venues in the city, generating nearly half a million pounds worth of income per year as of 2007.
Main access to Hull is granted by the massive Humber Bridge (pictured).
